Questions

Everything people ask.

Hosting, photos, the Album, guests and business gatherings. Not here? Use the contact form and a person replies.

Hosting

hazel is a way to collect every guest's photos from a gathering, with no app to download. Guests upload from their phones and you choose what makes the final Album.

No. Guests scan a QR code or tap a link, give a first name and an email, and add photos straight from their phone.

Guests upload from their camera roll, or tap Take a photo and their phone's own camera opens, so it's the real full-quality shot, not a webcam frame. Either way, they always see the photo before it uploads. No embarrassing accidents.

One year from the day uploads close, for every gathering. Keep it for another year with a one-off payment, or download everything at any time.

Not at all. Birthdays, hen and stag dos, group trips, corporate and creator events, family milestones. Any gathering worth remembering.

Then you may not need us. hazel is for when the people with the photos aren't in one chat: wedding guests across five families, a tour guide's group for the day, a club owner who wants the members' photos for the club's social, a brand's attendees at a launch. One link goes out, every phone's photos come back in one Album, full quality, kept for a year.

Free for gatherings up to 6 guests. From £3.49 for up to 20, and the price goes by the number of guests. Extras are optional: more photos per person, video clips, and gatherings longer than two days. Every price is the whole price, nothing added at checkout and you see the total before you pay.

Nobody is ever turned away. We allow 20% over your band before asking you to move up, and moving up just means paying the difference.

Yes. Name, type, date (until it starts), cover, welcome message and when uploads close can all be changed from Edit gathering details. The number of guests, photos per person and video are set when you pay, because they set the price. The business switch is fixed once you've paid.

Open the gathering and tap Reopen uploads. Pick tomorrow, three days, or a date of your own. Tell the person; nobody is emailed. If you'd already shared the Album it goes offline until you share it again.

Yes. Open your gathering and tap Add your photos. No link, no joining, they go straight in alongside your guests' and show with your name like everyone else's.

No. A gathering is a link, so people can add photos from anywhere in the world. A family spread across three countries, a competition open to anyone, a company collecting photos from every office for one global event. Set the dates, share the link, and the photos arrive in one place.

Yes, everything works on a computer, and it's the best place to curate on a bigger screen and to download every photo full size in one go.

Photos and the Album

No. Photos come to you first. Nobody sees anything until you choose what makes the Album and share it.

One feed, one switch per photo. Everything is on by default; switch off what shouldn't go, then tap Share the Album. Switched-off photos stay in your gathering, only you can see them, and you can bring any back.

Every guest gets the link by email, and anyone with the link can open it, so you can send it to people who couldn't be there. A business gathering can keep its Album private instead.

Yes. Any photo saves straight to their phone, and everything can be downloaded in one go, which is easiest on a computer.

No. Nobody's photos are analysed, no faces are recognised, and no software decides what goes in an Album. You do. The only automatic check is against lists of known illegal images, which recognises files the authorities already know and cannot see a photo.

Add video when you set up a gathering and every guest can add up to three clips of up to 60 seconds, reviewed before they upload just like photos. They play in the Album on any phone.

Guests

If you can see the Album, open the photo and choose "I'm in this photo, take it down". It leaves the Album straight away and the host is told. If you can't see the Album, write to us through the support form with the name of the host or business and the gathering, and we'll do the same.

Open the link again, tap Log back in, enter the email you joined with, and type the six-digit code we send. Your photos and your count are exactly as you left them.

Yes, while uploads are open. Open Edit your photos and tap the cross on any of them. After uploads close, ask the host, or write to us through the contact form.

Open the photo and tap Report this photo. It's hidden the moment you do, a person at hazel looks the same day, and the host is told.

Two reasons only: to send you the Album when it's ready, and to let you back in if you lose the page. It is never shown to other guests and never used for marketing.

Business gatherings

Your business is the host, on the join page and every email, with your logo. You can keep the Album private, so photos come to you only, and guests agree at join that you may use their photos in your own marketing. Free up to 6 guests, then £10 on top of any band. A full-size download on a computer, and an invoice by email.

That's exactly what a private business gathering is for. Everyone adds their photos and clips in one place, the consent is recorded, and nothing is shared back unless you choose to.

Yes, an invoice arrives by email from Stripe as soon as you pay.
